In detail

Silver is the bright one. A finely brushed finish that catches the morning light over the sink and sits easily on a white or stone counter. The knurled handle gives a sure grip, even with wet hands.

The idea is simple. The blade sits at a fixed 30 degree angle inside a closed-comb head with a flat base plate. Lay the razor flat on your cheek, handle close to your face, then tip the handle out a little until the blade starts to cut. The angle is right without you having to look for it.

The blade is clamped rigid between the base plate and the top cap, so it doesn't flex during a stroke. One blade per stroke, not a stack of them in a cartridge. Only a thin line of edge shows at the front of the head.

Unscrew the handle and the razor comes apart in three pieces, for blade changes and a proper rinse. It takes any standard double-edge blade, sold almost everywhere, and five come in the box to get you started. No proprietary cartridge, and no plastic cartridge to throw away.

Questions

Good to know

Something else? Write to us from our contact page. We reply within 2 business days.

Is it hard to learn?

Less than a classic safety razor. With those, the hard part is finding the angle and holding it through every stroke. Here the angle is set in the head, which takes the guesswork out: lay the razor flat, tip the handle out a touch, and shave. Take the first few shaves slowly, with light pressure and short strokes.

Which blades fit, and how often do I change them?

Any standard double-edge (DE) blade. Five come in the box, and our box of 100 fits too, as does any other standard DE blade. Change the blade every 5 to 7 shaves, or as soon as it starts to pull.

How do I change the blade safely?

Unscrew the handle and lift off the top cap, holding it by its sides. Take the old blade out by its short ends and put it straight into a closed metal container or a blade bank. Set a fresh blade on the base plate, put the cap back on and screw the handle tight.

Can I fly with it?

Under TSA rules, razor blades are not allowed in carry-on bags in the US. Pack the razor with its blade, and any spare blades, in your checked bag. For flights elsewhere, check your airline's rules. The travel sleeve keeps the head covered in your bag.

How do shipping and returns work?

Shipping is included in the price; there is no separate delivery charge. Orders ship within 1 to 3 business days and arrive in 7 to 12 business days. Import duties and customs fees are paid by us. If a carrier ever asks you for any, contact us and we will cover it in full. Unused items in their original condition can be returned within 30 days of delivery. For hygiene reasons, a razor or brush that has been used and opened blade wrappers cannot be returned. A defective or damaged item is replaced or refunded, even after use.
